7 Day Oregon Road Trip Itinerary - John Dellenback Sand Dunes

Hi, I’m Steph

a nature-loving blogger and photographer travelling the world in search of wildlife and wild places

Growing up, I loved watching nature documentaries and dreamed of seeing these animals and places with my own eyes. Fast-forward to today, and I’ve watched a cheetah teach her cub how to hunt in the Serengeti, spent an evening with howler monkeys in the Peruvian Amazon, road-tripped around the Canadian Rockies, and hiked through the most insane landscapes in Utah. I even packed up my bags and moved to Canada for six years where I spent all my free time hiking, backpacking and searching for bears!

I’m forever in awe of nature, which is why I started Love From Steph – to share personal guides and itineraries from my travels so you can plan your own unforgettable adventures. My idea of a good time usually involves early mornings, muddy boots, and mountain top views. If that sounds like you, you’re in the right place!

Love from Steph

My story

I was born and raised in the UK, but I’ve had the travel bug ever since I was little. My parents used to take us down to Devon and Cornwall on holiday, and I loved being by the sea and outside in nature. I had no idea what I wanted to do as a career, but I knew I wanted a job that would let me travel and experience more of the world, so I decided to study French and German at university. Like most language students, I spent my third year living in Hamburg (Germany) and Paris (France), and it was during this time that I fell in love with photography.

After university, I fell into marketing and moved to London. My job took me back to Germany, where I lived on and off in Düsseldorf for four months, and then to Paris again for six months. After 4 years back in London, I’d had enough of the daily commute, the crowds and city life, and I found myself longing for mountains, wildlife, and a slower pace of life. I knew I was ready for a new adventure, so I applied for a working holiday visa to Canada. I was 29 years old so it was now or never. I didn’t think I would get selected but two weeks before Christmas I got an invite to apply and by February I had my 2-year working visa.

I spent a long time debating whether it was the right move. I was scared of the unknown, of leaving family and friends and starting over. But at the same time I knew that if I didn’t go, I would regret it. So, in June 2019 I finally took the leap, quit my job, and booked a one-way ticket to Vancouver. And boy I’m glad I did!

The past 6 years have been nothing short of incredible. I’ve travelled Canada extensively, from British Columbia to Nova Scotia, and have also been fortunate to explore the USA, South America and Central America. I’ve spent a lot of time hiking through vast landscapes and have encountered some unforgettable wildlife along the way. I’m now back in the UK but Canada will always be my second home – I’m a Canadian citizen and I still have lots of wild places I want to explore!

What makes Love From Steph a little bit different?

And why should you stick around? Well, for starters, everything you read here is written by me and based on places I’ve personally visited and itineraries I’ve planned and tested. I’ll never write about anywhere I haven’t been and won’t promote things I haven’t tried (and enjoyed) myself first, so you can really trust my guides.

Secondly, this isn’t a generic travel blog. I travel for nature. My trips are shaped around wildlife sightings, national parks, hiking trails, and time spent outdoors. You’ll find thoughtfully paced itineraries, realistic advice, and planning tips designed to help you experience the natural world more deeply and responsibly.
